About Tokugen

The Tokugen Company began in Kagoshima  Prefecture in 1937 making traditional
Japanese kimono textiles (Ikat). In 1960,we started to produce naturally dyed
Indigo textiles (Aizome ) for JAPANESE KIMONO AND CRAFT ART.

In 1980, we began producing contemporary  clothes using Aizome textiles and sold them 

in large Tokyo Department stores such as Mitsukoshi and Tokyu.

In 1999, we established the Tokugen Craft Studio in Yanaka, Tokyo where we feature
men's and women's clothes along with accessories such as scarves, using natural
Indigo and other natural dyed textiles.

We are able to do CUSTOM ORDERS of the  displayed clothes in any size and fabric for 

both men and women.
